Ceradyne recently formed a manufacturing division that offers two leading materials for neutron absorption applications: BORAL® and Aluminum/Boron Carbide Metal Matrix Composite (AL/B₄C MMC). Our new division, Ceradyne Canada, is based in Chicoutimi, Quebec and is the result of two acquisitions: BORAL® purchased from AAR Manufacturing Company in Livonia, Michigan and the former Alumiform plant in Chicoutimi. Ceradyne Canada is also extruding and rolling MMC shapes using a proprietary MMC cast AL/B₄C material.

Ceradyne’s BORAL® and AL/B₄C MMC products provide market leading performance for neutron absorption in both wet and dry spent nuclear fuel storage and/or transport applications.

Boron Products
Ceradyne Boron Products supplies neutron absorbing and reflecting components in materials utilizing enriched ¹⁰Boron and ¹¹Boron isotopes.
