Ceradyne Canada is combining standard extrusion technologies
to offer an extensive array of extruded and rolled Aluminum/Boron Carbide Metal
Matrix Composite (AL/B4C MMC) products for spent nuclear fuel
storage and/or transport uses. These MMC products provide market-leading
performance for neutron absorption in both wet and dry storage applications.
MMC is produced at Ceradyne’s newest manufacturing facility in Chicoutimi, in
the province of Quebec. Ceradyne Canada uses proprietary AL/B4C MMC
cast material in its extrusion and rolling operations to produce shaped
products for use in the nuclear industry.
