The surface preparation industry is focused on cleaning or altering surfaces of
materials through the use of abrasive blasting or other means. Abrasive
blasting involves impacting the target materials with abrasive media at high
velocities. The high hardness and wear resistance of advanced ceramics provides
the material of choice for blast nozzle liners.
Sand Blast Nozzle Liners
Ceradyne manufactures sand blast nozzle liners for use in the surface
preparation industry. Ceradyne offers a line of “long venturi” liners from
Ceralloy® 147-31N grade of silicon nitride. These make use of silicon nitride’s
abrasive wear characteristics that are superior to other materials such as
aluminum oxide and tungsten carbide.
Sand blast nozzle liners are available from stock, and custom designs are
available upon request.
