Among its many roles and missions, Homeland Security heads a concerted national
effort to prevent terrorist attacks within the United States and reduce America's
vulnerability to terrorism. Within this course of action is the challenge of protecting
those who protect the general populace.
In an effort to support homeland security initiatives, Ceradyne has recently developed
a DEFENDER® product line of lifesaving protective armor equipment for the members
of homeland security agencies and organizations. The search for lighter weight armor
products that offer a higher degree of protection is a Ceradyne hallmark.
While the priority is to keep terrorists and their weapons out of the United States,
this agency is also responsible for enforcing immigration regulations and drug laws.
Ceradyne has committed resources to design and develop ceramic based armor solutions
from body armor to government tested and approved vehicle armor in support of the
CBP.
