A variety of special operations forces use Ceradyne body, side and shoulder armor. A low visibility side and shoulder plate (LOW VIS) offers low profile protection when worn in conjunction with soft armor. Another side plate called S-SAPI also provides multi-hit protection when worn in conjunction with approved soft armor. A third special operations side plate known as “SWIMMER” delivers stand alone protection.

In addition to special operations ceramic armor plates currently in the field, Ceradyne continues to develop advanced special operations force protection for other vulnerable body areas including hips, legs and arms.
