tiles

Ceradyne is a vertically integrated manufacturer of lightweight, ceramic armor tiles for use with police and military vehicles. Since 1969 Ceradyne has been a leader in the manufacturing of advanced technical ceramics and armor tiles for ballistic applications. From the earliest applications of ceramic armor tiles and durable light weight body armor, Ceradyne has provided innovative ballistic protection solutions with the lightest and most durable tactical body armor, armor tiles and armor plates available.

Ceradyne can provide armor tiles in virtually any shape or size. Raised edge armor tiles are designed and specified when the utmost mass efficiency is required of the system. Since a large fraction of the cost of the finished armor tiles can be attributed to surface and edge grinding, over-specification of dimensional tolerances should be avoided. In many cases, the dimensions of the armor tiles are in the "as-pressed" condition and are fully adequate for armor systems.

Ceradyne’s armor tiles are used to produce multi-hit tactical body armor systems featuring boron carbide and silicon carbide advanced ceramics. The patented armor technology uses hot pressed armor tiles which can take virtually any shape and can stand up to the toughest of situations.

With vertically integrated manufacturing, state-of-the-art materials and innovative design, Ceradyne’s armor tiles meet or exceed the most demanding ballistic protection requirements.
