More than a decade of intensive research and process development has led to Ceradyne
Diaphorm’s creation of Proprietary Process Techniques for the molding of Continuous
Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Composites (CFRTPC).
CFRTPC materials come in a variety
of forms: raw tow, woven textile, braids, and uni-directional, or as pre-consolidated
laminates made from co-mingled or pre-treated yarns. Each presents a different manufacturing
challenge. Ultimately the material choice needs to be married to the correct process
to minimize waste and to provide for optimum results.
In order to cost effectively produce products that are lighter, stronger, and perform
at a much higher level, our talented equipment design team translates material
know-how and in-depth understanding of how the process affects the utility and functionality
of these advanced materials.
Ceradyne
Diaphorm's product development / advanced manufacturing process techniques are critical
to an array of Ceradyne’s ballistic rated product offerings and is made available
to innovative customers on an engineering design / contract manufacturing basis
for a wide variety of commercial and military applications.
