Ceradyne has developed a new vehicle armoring system that encompasses the latest protective products for tactical wheel, logistical support and armored amphibious vehicles. Ceradyne’s system is not only extremely flexible but also responsive to local threat requirements which allows fast and effective adjustments to armor protection levels and improves survivability rates.
The Ceradyne FlexKit™ is a highly engineered, fully integrated, modular armor and blast protection system that utilizes a variety of advanced lightweight materials for direct application on tactical wheeled vehicles as well as armored amphibious vehicles. The systems on all of the Ceradyne armored vehicles including armored amphibious vehicles meet or exceed threat protection level requirements as specified by the US Army in the Long Term Armor Strategy (LTAS).
Ceradyne provides add-on modular armor panels for protection upgrades to armored amphibious vehicles. Ceradyne’s panals offer freestanding structural integrity and are highly resistant to environmental degradation and incidental damage. Ceradyne has developed methods of large ceramic billet (12"x17") integration to enable the economical production of large-scale panels that provide outstanding multi-hit repeatability against 5.56 and 7.62 mm ball and AP threats.
Ceradyne Armor Systems recently delivered an improved lightweight advanced ceramic composite armor for the US Navy armored amphibious vehicle, Air Cushion (LCAC).
