Founded in 1967, Ceradyne Thermo Materials produces fused silica ceramic products in its 85,000 sq. ft. (7,900 m²) Georgia facility. Thermo Materials specializes in the manufacture of fused silica ceramic components for industrial markets. Its industrial products serve a wide market where high temperature and thermal shock resistance, as well as low thermal expansion, are required. Thermo Materials has the capability of producing large shapes (often over 100 lbs.) to precision tolerances.

Ceradyne Thermo Materials also produces missile radomes for the Patriot, Aegis and Arrow missile systems from its fused silica ceramic. Thermo Material also performs the final grinding for the Pac-3 silicon nitride based radomes.
